Forklift electrical systems fall into two broad types. On an internal-combustion truck, a conventional 12V or 24V system handles starting, charging, ignition, lights, and gauges — much like a car. On an electric forklift, a high-voltage battery pack (commonly 24V, 36V, or 48V) feeds a motor controller, which regulates power to the traction and pump motors and manages acceleration, lift, and regenerative braking. Switches, control handles, and sensors feed operator input and system data into that controller.
